Harvey's Brewery - Tom Paine - Pale Ale
5.5%abv - 500ml Bottle - £4
A dry hopped, robust pale ale, Tom Paine is packed with a full, malty palate and bitterness to match.
Tom Paine Ale is brewed to commemorate the bicentenary of Thomas Paine’s “The Rights of Man”. It is thought that Paine helped to draft the American Declaration Of Independence. The beer is brewed to the Standard Excise Gravity of 1055° in honour of the eponymous political radical who was an Excise Officer in Lewes between 1768 – 1774.
Harvey's Brewing is best known for Harvey's Best Bitter and takes great pride in craft brewing as a Regional Brewer.
Harvey’s Brewery is the oldest independent brewery in Sussex. Harvey's prides itself as a family business, and the brewery has been in the custodianship of John Harvey’s descendants since 1790, with family members from the seventh and eighth generations working there today, with four ninth generation descendants (aged five and under), which provides plenty of scope for the continuation of Harvey's as an independent family business for generations to come.
